The exhibition has now sadly finished, however I really enjoyed doing it and would love to thank, Andrew Belshaw and all the others from both the Art Cafe Project and Bettys Cafe for all their help in making it possible. I hope visitors to my site will enjoy the photos, and do drop into Bettys for a spot of light lunch whenever your near the Centre of Life in Newcastle.

To me, an ehibition is about creating a space for people to relax in and enjoy. I try to create objects which have an effect on the energy within a space, bright rainbows of colour to enrich the senses, curious forms to stimulate, and then there's the mad black angel, Eric, who seems to get such weird reactions. It's a playground for people.

Sculptures
Black Angel
This is a representation of part of a dream. The moment before flight, when I dream fly there is always a moment where my feet are still supporting me, when my head stretches forward and I lean out. This is that moment of anticipation. This piece was created in responce to a college brief and is one of my favourite pieces. the expression that came out on the faces has brought so many different responses for people, particularly when I used it on my old stall on Armstrong Bridge. The large one is called Eric and his new little brother is called Henry Huffington for no particular reason.
Knots
These are what my Maths brain has been coming up with for the last year. Knots are a concept from Topology, a branch of Mathematics. I'm fascinated by them, but I won't bore you. All the same, just imagine that they're as interesting forms in Mathematics as they are as sculpture and you'll not be too far from the truth. Many people these days despise Mathematics and it's such a shame as there is so much beauty there.

Obelisks
These pieces are developements from another piece entitled "Honesty". The name reflects it's form, an antithesis of the usual male oriented Obelisk. Obelisks are traditionally phallic monuments, I wanted a feminine version, rounded instead of pointy and with a hole (*Grin*). I also wanted to create a piece one could handle, where touch instead of sight was of significance. So feel free to fondle these ones, but please be very careful, remember, you break it, you bought it.

Hex
These four panels show how the world looks to me, our view of the world is filtered through our perspective, we fill up our perceptions with how we think the world is and ignore what is truly out there. The trouble comes when working out which is which, what can seem to be reality is often our filters and vice versa.
Since the exhibition space is shared between myself and another artist - Rachel Farmer I'm including photo's of her work which is displayed downstairs in the cafe (mostly cos I like them so much)
